Description

The present set-up is designed to study thecharacteristics of a filter column. It consists of a columnfilled with packing to ensure the good water distribution.20 Slotted pressure tapings are mounted on the columnfor measuring the pressure drop across the bed per unitlength. These tapings are connected to a differentialmanometer. These tapings can also be used for drawingthe samples from the column and change inconcentration of the suspension can be determined.The unit is complete with 2 Nos. of feed tanks. Acentrifugal pump is provided to circulate the waterthrough the column. Water supplied to the column isregulated and controlled by rotameter.
