Description

The present set-up is designed to study the pressurelosses due to pipe fittings installed in pipe lines. It consistsof a bend, elbow, a sudden expansion & contraction, ballvalve and gate valve. Pressure tapings are provided atinlet and outlet of these fittings to measure the pressuredifference using pressurized differential pressuremanometer.Centrifugal pump is used to re-circulate the water fromsump tank to the pipeline and is return back to the sumptank. Flow diverter is provided to divert the flow either tomeasuring tank or sump tank. Experiments can beconducted on different flow rates and measured with thehelp of measuring tank with piezometer and stopwatch.
