Description

The present set-up is designed to study the frictionallosses in pipe line when fluid travels through them. Itconsists of two pipes of different diameters connected inparallel and fitted with control valves to operate one pipeat a time for experiment. Pressure tapings are providedon each pipeline to measure the pressure differenceusing pressurized differential pressure manometer.Centrifugal pump is used to re-circulate the water fromsump tank to the pipeline and is return back to the sumptank. Flow diverter is provided to divert the flow either tomeasuring tank or sump tank. Experiments can beconducted on different flow rates and measured with thehelp of measuring tank with piezometer and stopwatch.
