Description

The present set-up is designed to study the flow throughdifferent orifices and mouthpieces. It consists of an inlettank provided with diffuser and provision for fitting Orifice or Mouthpiece at the outlet which can be easilyattached or detached without need of any tool. Anoverflow arrangement is done to vary head and keep itconstant at desired level to conduct varieties ofexperiments. A pointer gauge for measuring X-Y coordinatesof Jet is fitted on flow channel.Centrifugal pump is used to re-circulate the water fromsump tank to the inlet tank and test section and is returnback to the sump tank. Flow diverter is provided to divertthe flow either to measuring tank or sump tank. Constanthead condition is maintained in the inlet tank.Experiments can be conducted on different flow ratesand measured with the help of measuring tank withpiezometer and stopwatch.
