Description

In an ideal Plug Flow Reactor (PFTR) there is no mixing inthe direction of flow and complete mixing perpendicularto direction of flow. Concentration of reactants variesalong the length of reactor but not in radial direction. Thisset-up is used to study a non-catalytic homogeneousreaction under ambient condition.The set up consists of two feed tanks through which tworeactants are fed to the reactor. Rotameters are providedto measure the individual flow of Chemicals. The flowrate can be adjusted by operating the needle valvesprovided on respective Rotameter. The compressed air isused for circulation of feed. A straight tube type reactorkept horizontally and inclined upward at outlet fromwhere samples are collected for analysis. Pressure Regulator, Pressure Gauge and Safety Valve are fitted inthe compressed air line.
