Description

In an ideal Plug Flow Reactor (PFTR) there is no mixing inthe direction of flow and complete mixing perpendicularto direction of flow. Concentration of reactants variesalong the length of reactor but not in radial direction. Thisset-up is used to study a non catalytic homogeneousreaction under ambient condition.The set up consists of two feed tanks through which tworeactants are fed to the reactor. It is a helical coil tubetype reactor. Rotameters are provided to measure theindividual flow of Chemicals. The flow rate can beadjusted by operating the needle valves provided onrespective Rotameter. The compressed air is used forcirculation of feed. Samples are collected for analysisfrom the outlet of reactor. Pressure Regulator, Pressure Gauge and Safety Valve are fitted in the compressed airline.
